One question I always receive from people is how to enjoy wine country without needing to worry about driving. It can be difficult to find a low-cost option for a driver, especially if you don’t have a large enough group to fill a limo or bus. I feel like I hit jackpot when I recently discovered a company called Wine Tasting Driver, which is a service that provides the driver all day without the car which makes the option MUCH more affordable.

I recently had my girlfriends in town for a weekend in Sonoma and we couldn’t wait to spend a day of tasting wine together. We hired Wine Tasting Driver for the day and had a knowledgeable (and fun) driver meet us at our hotel. She took us to several wineries and was ready to pick us up when we were done with our tastings.

Here’s what our day looked like:

10:30AM: Susie from Wine Tasting Driver showed up at our hotel and we took off for our first stop, Gloria Ferrer

11AM: Did the tour and tasting at Gloria Ferrer. Absolutely loved our experience there. Our host was extremely knowledgeable and made learning about sparkling wine so much fun. The outside patio offers some expansive views of the vineyards. I always suggest starting a day with bubbles, as you will likely move to some heavier reds later on in the day.

12:30PM: Walt Wines. Tasted their amazing chardonnays and pinot noirs out on their beautiful patio. Our host was friendly and gave us a lot of information regarding the regions and winemaking process for each of the wines we tasted. Walt Wines is owned by the Hall Family, who also own Hall Winery.

1:30PM: Lunch downtown Sonoma – I highly recommend Girl & the Fig for a sizable wine menu, tasty french bites, and charming ambiance.

3:30: Kenwood Vineyards – A large barn-like tasting room with a wide selection of wines from rosé to cabernet sauvignon. Our host gave us a spoonful of chocolate and paired it with a delicious red wine.

And thats a wrap. Enjoy your worry-free day in Wine Country and hope you love Wine Tasting Driver as much as we did!
