Greatest Sips of 2018

It’s that time of year to reflect on some of our most memorable moments and adventures over the last 12 months. With that said, after visiting countless wineries this year I’ve compiled Wine Country Chick’s first annual “Greatest Sips” of 2018. This list includes wineries that are memorable for their wine, atmosphere, and all-around awesomeness. If you haven’t visited these, I highly recommend adding them to your list for 2019!

Bowman Cellars

Located in Sonoma County in a small town called Graton, this trendy tasting room is absolutely worth a visit. We loved the Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Chalk Hill Estate

Chalk Hill Estate has a massive and beautiful property located in Russian River Valley. For an incredible and unique experience, we took their estate tour which included a ride in their Humvee. We enjoyed their Chairman’s Club Syrah.

Davis Estates

Davis Estates Winery is located in Calistoga and the tasting experience is as close to perfection as it gets . Their Davis Estates Cabernet Franc and Zephyr were a real treat.

Justin Winery

This winery is located in Paso Robles, which is about halfway between LA and San Francisco. Their tasting room offers sweeping views of their vineyards and we fell in love with their Isosceles Bordeaux Red Blend.

VML Winery

VML is located in Healdsburg and their tasting room embodies the craftsmanship and beauty of their brand and wines. For me, it was love at first sight. I loved their Estate Pinot Noir.

Viader Winery

Viader in Napa Valley will capture your heart. Their winemaker is passionate about every detail and it shows in their wine. You will enjoy every minute at this winery,

Quintessa Winery

Located in the hear of Rutherford, the Quintessa experience is unlike any other. Their tour shows off their modern tasting room as well as an outdoor standalone room with retractable doors for private group tastings.

Lokoya Winery

This luxury winery is available for private appointment only which typically needs to be made far in advance. If you can snag an appointment, you’re in for a treat. The views and wines are amazing.

Cuvaison

Cuvaison is located in Los Carneros region in Napa and has an elegant and modern tasting room. I’ve always loved this winery for their hospitality, wrap around patio, and excellent wine. They make some of my favorite Chardonnays.

Rancho Victoria Vineyard

Although they are “off the beaten path” compared to the rest of the wineries on this list, Rancho Victoria Vineyard in Amador County, California should be on your radar. They have a gorgeous property which is why many people celebrate their weddings here. We loved their Barbera and Reserve Syrah.
