Wine of the Week: Beaujolais and Grilled Chicken Salad

This light red wine is true perfection when paired with this delicious strawberry, feta, and grilled chicken salad.

Think you can’t pair red wine with your favorite summer salads? Think again! Beaujolais is known to be a “year-round” drinker since it happily pairs with a lot of foods including summer friendly and lighter foods like chicken and strawberries. This refreshing chicken, strawberry, and feta salad is very simple to make and it pairs nicely with Beaujolais-Villages from Louis Jadot.

Wine of the Week: Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages

Beaujolais is a French wine typically made of a Gamay grape which has thin skin and is low in tannins. Because of their soft tannins and fruity nature, the wines of Beaujolais are best served slightly chilled, which is very unusual for a red wine. Its flavor profile consists of fresh red fruit and it pairs well with a wide spectrum of foods.  And you can’t complain about the price which will cost you less than $15 (USD).

Louis Jadot Wines was founded in 1859 by a man from Belgium named Louis Henry Denis Jadot. Beaujolais is a small wine region in France that lies just south of Bergundy.

Strawberry Feta Salad:

Fresh, fruity, and healthy. My idea of a perfect Summer meal.

  • Feta cheese (1/2 cup)
  • Fresh strawberries (1-2 cups), cut into slices
  • Mixed greens (1 bag)
  • Poppyseed Dressing (I love Brianna’s – link below)
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes. Cool down and cut into slices. Lay mixed greens on serving tray, top with feta, strawberries, and chicken. Serve dressing on the side (or mixed in, if desired).
