Whimsical and Spooky-Themed Wines That Are Actually Good
You may be busy stocking up on fun-sized candy for Halloween, but don’t forget to stock up on the real Halloween hero: Wine. While you may be tempted to grab a bottle with those corny “Zombie apocalypse” wine labels, I’ve assembled a list of Halloween-appropriate wines that are actually good. Bonus: Their theme-appropriate labels make them perfect for those spooky theme parties and get togethers. Most importantly, they taste delicious!
Bewitched Chardonnay – Russian River
Just like your favorite American sitcom (or movie if you’re a Nicole Kidman fan). This chardonnay from Russian River valley is smooth with notes of apple and oak. Pair it with corn chowder or caramelized apple brie.
Dearly Beloved – Forever Red
This wine label is all about living every day as if it were your last. This full bodied wine has flavors of black cherry and dark chocolate. Pairs perfectly with mini sliders or pizza.
According to their slogan, this wine is “hauntingly delicious”. This Petite Syrah, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot blend from California has received recognition from Wine Enthusiast for their 2013 vintage. Pair it with lamb meatballs, BBQ, and dry cheeses like manchego or parmesan.
